Hi

No, not used, but PPS are stronly promoting the option to solve my problem that I want to change to a Mac from a pc.  They sent me a link to try the online version as a guest user but the procedure did not work so didn't get to sample it - not a good result for promoting the capability.

I want to use PPS on the Mac but it seems messy to do so with the need for Windows emulation.  Neil, from your other posts it looks like you are using a Mac with PPS successfully.  What is the cost, considering that Windows has to be purchased as well as the emulation software?

Mike

I have checked with the PPS Sales team and they have informed me that they did offer to log in to your PC to help you with the log in details for the demo version of PPS online. I think initially they did not realise you were using a Mac. Please do get in touch with them again and they will help you with this simple set up.

Further to this, for PPS online there is no need for Windows Emulation Software on the Mac - there is a simple icon that needs setting up which you use to log in - and that's it.

If you want to run PPS actually on your Mac (i.e. not PPS online) then you do need to install Windows Emulation Software. This is not just for PPS purposes though - this give you a full Windows desktop as an application on your Mac which can obviously be used for any other Windows applications.

Mike,

Running PPS via windows on a Mac is a breeze. Faster than most actual Windows machines. I have had no problems running Windows 7 on a Mac running PPS.

As Admin mentioned, with PPS online then there is no need to load Windows emulation on your Mac.

Hope this helps.

Hi folks,

I'm looking to purchase an iPad to use with PPS Online but I want to know if there is a good Remote Desktop application to use with it?

I have had a look in the App Store and it seems that there are two free options (one of which is recommended by PPS for use on an iPhone, iRDesktop, the other is Remote Desktop Lite) but usually "too good to be true" is just that! I'm wondering if an iPhone-optimized RDP will be as useable on the bigger iPad screen.

Can anybody recommend a decent RDP for the iPad - without me having to buy each one and test it out!

I know there won't be much input as there aren't that many iPads about but just thought I'd ask!

Thanks in advance everybody,

Steve

Steve,

I can really recommend logmein ignition for the iPad.

I use it on both my iPhone and iPad and it is seamless. You can check it out here.

Hi Neil,

Does ignition allow for RDP access? I've had a look and downloaded the trial version but can't see where to connect to the PPS Online demo system.
